What we need when applying


Essential skills and experience

Six months experience in a care setting: learning disabilities, mental health, dementia.

  1. Communication skills to provide support and motivation
  2. Ability to support individuals with domiciliary needs and life skills
  3. Capability to work independently and within a team  
  4. Desire for personal development and achieving goals.
  5. Flexible working hours over 7 days.

Desirable skills and experience

      1. Full UK driving licence

      2. NVQ level 2 in health and social care – or equivalent.  

      3. Awareness of health and safety legislation.  

      4. Training in relevant areas; medication admin, peg feeds, manual handling.

     5. Awareness of associated needs, mental health, epilepsy, diabetes and personal       care.
